چکیده

I review some of the approaches to including the eeects of dynamical quark loops in Monte Carlo simulations of quantum eld theories. The discussion begins with a brief introduction to anticommuting variables and ends with higher order improvements to the hybrid Monte Carlo scheme. Pseudofermion, Langevin, and various combinations thereof are compared.

First applications of the new algorithm simulating dynamical fermions are reported. The method reproduces previous results obtained with different techniques. The problem of dynamical fermions, even though solved in principle, still provides the considerable challenge in practice. Existing exact algorithms require huge computing resources due to the strong correlations between generated configu...

Review of Unquenched Results

One of the major frontiers of lattice field theory is the inclusion of light fermions in simulations, particularly in pursuit of accurate, first principles predictions from lattice QCD. With dedicated Teraflops-scale computers currently simulating QCD, another step towards precision full QCD simulations is underway. In addition to ongoing staggered and Wilson fermion simulations, first results ...

New Method for Dynamical Fermions and Chiral-Symmetry Breaking

where the fermionic degrees of freedom have been integrated out, and N f is number of flavors taking into account the species doubling. Spl is the plaquette energy [Spl = ∑ pRe(Up)/Nc, for a compact theory, and Spl = − ∑ p θ 2 p/2, for noncompact QED]. The fermionic determinant det∆(m,U) accounts for the effects of dynamical fermions; its numerical evaluation requires in general a huge CPU time...

We provide fast algorithms for simulating many body Fermi systems on a universal quantum computer. Both first and second quantized descriptions are considered, and the relative computational complexities are determined in each case. In order to accommodate fermions using a first quantized Hamiltonian, an efficient quantum algorithm for antisymmetrization is given. Finally, a simulation of the H...

Fermions in higher representations . Some results about SU ( 2 ) with adjoint fermions

We discuss the lattice formulation of gauge theories with fermions in arbitrary representations of the color group, and present the implementation of the RHMC algorithm for simulating dynamical Wilson fermions. A first dataset is presented for the SU(2) gauge theory with two fermions in the adjoint representation, which has been proposed as a possible technicolor candidate. Simulations are perf...
